June 1st marks the start of hurricane season and meteorological summer. We are starting the day off a bit warmer than yesterday. Temps are still only in the 50s and 60s though early Tuesday morning. Rain is on the way. A couple stray showers/sprinkles early in the day and afternoon are possible but we will see heavier rain overnight and into parts of Thursday. Rain looks to clear out for the weekend. Winds will be light over the next 48 hours. A few tenths of an inch of rain will come out of Wednesday/Thursday’s system. More SE of Terre Haute. A few stronger storms are possible Wednesday/Thursday. We ended the month of May off with a below normal pattern. Mid 70s today to start off meteorological summer off. Upper 50s tonight with mostly cloudy skies and the main system arrives. We dry up by the weekend and it will be a return of the 80s.
