WASHINGTON DC. (WTWO/WAWV) — U.S. Senator Mike Braun of Indiana is calling on President Biden to come up with an agreement to cut federal spending before the United States begins defaulting on its debts.
“Get to the negotiating table,” Braun said in a statement Wednesday. “The House did the responsible thing to fix the bad business plan our government has been working under. It’s shameful to put this debt on our kids and grandkids and do nothing to stop it.”
Experts warn, defaulting could have catastrophic consequences to the U.S. economy.
Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen said, this week, the United States could run out of ways to pay its debt obligations as early as June 1st.
