Sullivan County reports second coronavirus case

SULLIVAN COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — The Sullivan County Health Department has been notified of its second positive case for COVID-19 in the county.

The Sullivan County Health Department is working closely with local and state officials to ensure the contacts of this patient are identified and monitored.

“The Sullivan County Health Department would like to remind all citizens to practice public health precautions of social distancing, avoiding mass gatherings, frequent hand washing and to stay at home,” the department said in a news release.

The Health Department emphasized the following in order to limit exposure:

  • one member of the household going to the grocery store and limiting trips for essential travel
  • not engaging in use of public playgrounds
  • avoiding public exposure as much as possible
  • staying home as much as possible
