INDIANAPOLIS – Indiana schools will be able to input COVID-19 data into a statewide portal, starting Friday.
Right now, the portal is in a pilot phase.
According to the state health commissioner, two representatives from each school will input positive COVID-19 cases among teachers, students and staff. This would be done on a daily basis.
A weekly review would be available on the state department’s website each Sunday.
According to Dr. Kristina Box, it is important for school officials to do their part in gathering this information.
“We’re asking schools to report their historical data from when school began through today [Wednesday] by close of business on Sunday. Schools that don’t submit data will be listed as ‘not reporting’. So, please check your spam filters. And if you haven’t received an email from us asking about these contacts, reach out to us,” she said.
Bill Riley with the Vigo County School Corporation said this dashboard along with Vigo County’s own dashboard can help with guiding their decisions on moving forward with school.
The dashboard will begin with historical data information, and then show data on a week-to-week basis.
