Free COVID-19 testing available in Vigo County starting Oct. 5

A Nevada man was hospitalized after testing positive for COVID-19 a second time.

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — The Vigo County Health Department announced free COVID-19 testing will be available locally beginning Oct. 5.

Testing will be available at both Union Health and Terre Haute Regional Hospital for all Indiana residents ages 2 and older. No physician’s order will be required and individuals will not need to be symptomatic to be tested.

Results will be available within three to six days of the testing.

Union Health will provide testing at the existing drive-thru site located at the far west end of Union West. Hours will be from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday; from 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday; and from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

Terre Haute Regional Hospital will hold testing at the Regional Pavilion, 501 E. Anthony Drive. Hours will be from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday; from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday; and from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday.
