INDIANAPOLIS — The Indiana Department of Health Friday announced that 1,050 additional Hoosiers have been diagnosed with COVID-19, bringing the state total to 84,317.
The latest Vigo County Health Department numbers show a total of 1,012 cases in the county since the start of the pandemic.
A total of 2,992 Hoosiers are confirmed to have died from COVID-19, an increase of 13 from the previous day. Two new deaths were reported in Sullivan County, for a total of four deaths while a second death was reported in Parke County.
Another 216 probable deaths have been reported based on clinical diagnoses in patients for whom no positive test is on record. Deaths are reported based on when data are received by ISDH and occurred over multiple days.
A total of 63,262 Indiana residents, or 77.8% of cases, are estimated to have recovered from the virus, according to information provided by the Regenstrief Institute.
As of Friday, nearly 37 percent of ICU beds and more than 82 percent of ventilators were available across the state.
To date, 958,432 tests for unique individuals have been reported to ISDH, up from 945,471 on Thursday.
