COVID-19 in Indiana: Additional deaths reported in Vigo, Clay counties

INDIANAPOLIS — The Indiana Department of Health Monday reported 5,700, bringing the state total to 387,278.

A total of 5,986 Hoosiers are confirmed to have died from COVID-19, an increase of 42 from the previous day. Vigo and Clay counties each reported one new death. Vigo County has seen a total of 114 coronavirus deaths since the start of the pandemic while Clay County has reported 27 total coronavirus deaths.

Another 298 probable deaths have been reported statewide based on clinical diagnoses in patients for whom no positive test is on record. Deaths are reported based on when data are received by the state and occurred over multiple days.           

To date, 2,323,969 unique individuals have been tested in Indiana, up from 2,309,879 on Sunday. A total of 4,614,540 tests, including repeat tests for unique individuals, have been reported to the state Department of Health since Feb. 26.
