SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WTWO/WAWV) – A second death in Clark County was one of 21 new COVID-19 deaths reported Friday by the Illinois Department of Public Health.
Both Clark County deaths were males in their 60s.
A total of 7,613 Illinois residents have died of the coronavirus to date.
Another 2,084 confirmed cases were also reported, bringing the state total to 190,508 cases since the start of the pandemic. The age of cases ranges from younger than one to older than 100 years.
Within the past 24 hours, laboratories have reported 46,869 specimens for a total of 2,984,618. The preliminary seven-day statewide positivity for cases as a percent of total test from July 31 – August 6 is 4.1%.
As of Thursday night, 1,486 people in Illinois were reported to be in the hospital with COVID-19. Of those, 333 patients were in the ICU and 125 patients with COVID-19 were on ventilators.
