Brazil closes city offices to public; all departments remain operational

BRAZIL, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — In accordance with federal recommendations, the City of Brazil Thursday announced public buildings would be closed to the public beginning noon Friday through April 1.

Public buildings include city hall, the city garage, the water treatment plant and wastewater treatment plan.

All departments will remain operational, and employees will be available to assist customers via phone, email, fax or text.

Payments for water bills, building permits, handgun permits and car impound fees will be taken over the phone, deposited into the City Hall payment drop box, or paid online. No cash payments will be accepted. Cash customers are encouraged to use money orders.

Scheduled meetings will continue unless otherwise notified.
