Tabby Flinn – Honeybees
Tabby Flinn, an entomologist with the local Purdue Extension Office, talks about the importance of honeybees. They pollinate much of the foods we eat.
Tabby maintains two hives in her backyard in Vigo County. She finds them very interesting and also sells the honey they produce.
There are traveling companies that move around the country to pollinate areas brass on blooming plants in that region. The bees pollinate the plants at different times of the year.
Soybeans and corn are not pollinated by honeybees but do collect nectar in those fields to continue their impact and work in the natural world.
