Tabby Flinn – Bees
Entomologist Tabby Flinn of the Purdue Extension Office takes us to her back yard to show and tell about honeybees and their importance to the world of agriculture. They are the best pollinators and farmers can protect them by applying insecticides later in the evening when the bees are less active. By going to the website “driftwatch” when exact locations for spraying can be posted.
Although honeybees do not pollinate soybeans and corn, they are collecting pollen in those fields. Once again use the website driftwatch.org if you raise bees, have sensitive crops or farmers who are careful about insecticide application.
