TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – Terre Haute Police officers responded to Vendors Village at Honey Creek Mall in reference to an alarm Saturday night around 10:15 P.M.

Police said a group of suspects entered the store and hid out until the store was closed.

After the store closed, police said the suspects were gathering up items when they were spotted by a security guard.

Police said the suspects battered the security guard, broke the doors of the mall to exit the store and then fled in a gray Honda Minivan with Pennsylvania license plates.

Officers spotted the van and followed it, but did not catch up to it until the van crashed at U.S. 41 and Jessica Drive in southern Vigo County.

Police said the suspects, two males and one female, fled the scene.

Anyone with information on their identities or whereabouts are asked to call Detective Kenny Murphy at (812) 244-2234.
