TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — The Vigo County School Corporation on Wednesday will publicize its decision for a Sept. 8 through 25 education model, according to communications director Bill Riley.
Riley said the school corporation needs the latest COVID-19 data to aid in decision making.
“The way that the data can change rapidly, we are making decisions in 3-week increments for now,” he explained.
According to Riley, administrators will consider a recommendation for the school corporation’s COVID-19 Task Force. He noted the task force is comprised of public health leaders, health care providers, scientists, administrators from local higher education institutions and parents, as well as representatives from the Vigo County Teachers Association and the Vigo County School Corporation.
“We believe in the power of school and are working hard to protect in-person education while prioritizing the safety of our students, staff and community,” Riley said.
