Traffic stop leads to 2 drug arrests

VERMILLION COUNTY — Two people were arrested Monday morning on felony drug charges following a traffic stop in Vermillion County.

A Vermillion County Sheriff’s deputy pulled over the vehicle for expired plates and learned the driver, Oussama Marhoum’s license was suspended.

Upon further investigation, the deputy discovered 10.18 grams of suspected methamphetamine, a large amount of money and a firearm.

Marhoum, 28, of Terre Haute, was arrested for initial charges of dealing in methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine, possession of paraphernalia and driving while suspended. He was transported to the Vermillion County Jail where he is being held without bond due to being out on a promise to appear in another case.

A passenger in the vehicle, Loretta Forbes, 48, was arrested for dealing in methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine and possession of paraphernalia.
