TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — A Terre Haute police sergeant has been placed on relief of duty following complaints received regarding “bias-based” social media posts, according to Police Chief Shawn Keen.
Sgt. Brad Newman, who also serves as Vigo County Clerk, will remain on leave from the police department pending the outcome of an investigation into the posts.
“While it is inappropriate for me to comment on an ongoing investigation, I will unequivocally state that the posts presented to me in these complaints do not reflect my personal values, those of the Terre Haute Police Department, or the City of Terre Haute,” Keen said.
