Terre Haute man wanted for escape now in custody

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — A Terre Haute man wanted on multiple charges including escape from lawful detention, burglary and aggravated battery, is now in custody.

Terre Haute Police and US Marshals attempted to arrest Richard Sandlin at a residence in the 1300 block of N. 12th Street around 10 a.m.

THPD Public Information Officer Ryan Adamson said authorities surrounded the home after Sandlin made comments to family members about not coming out; however he was ultimately taken into custody without incident.

He is currently being held at the Vigo County Jail without bond.
