TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — A Terre Haute man already on an ankle monitoring program awaiting trial for battery has now been charged in the death of an infant.
Marshon Jones was originally arrested on March 23 on charges of battery resulting in serious bodily injury to a person less than 14 years of age and two counts of neglect of a dependent resulting in serious bodily injury.
He was released from the Vigo County Jail and placed on an ankle monitor program while awaiting trial.
New charges were brought against Jones after the Terre Haute Police Department received a call Saturday regarding an unresponsive infant.
Following an investigation, detectives learned Jones had cut his ankle bracelet and was possibly in the Indianapolis area.
Jones was arrested by the US Marshal’s Task Force. He was charged with escape from lawful detention, and was later charged with aggravated battery resulting in death and neglect of a dependent resulting in death.
