OLNEY, Ill. (WTWO/WAWV) — A 16-year-old female was the latest to be charged in an ongoing Olney murder investigation.
The teen, whose name has not been released by authorities, was originally listed as “missing and endangered” in connection to a Sept. 6 shooting that left 19-year-old Kyle Johnson of Olney dead.
Following the shooting, a warrant for first degree murder was issued for Rick Meador. After weeks of searching, authorities on Wednesday located Meador and the 16-year-old female in Walton County, Fla.
The Illinois State Police on Thursday announced the teen has been charged with murder by accountability. She is currently being held at a juvenile justice center in Crestview, Fla., awaiting extradition.
Also arrested in the case was Tara N. Haws, 33, of Olney who was taken into custody Sept. 9. She is facing charges of murder by accountability.
