SULLIVAN COUNTY, Ind. — The subject of a three-week long manhunt that spanned multiple counties had his first court appearance in Sullivan County Wednesday.
Dalton Hood, 21, is facing a long list of charges in Sullivan County including auto theft, residential entry, resisting law enforcement and drug-related offenses.
During Wednesday’s court appearance, Hood told the judge he would hire his own attorney, and a not guilty plea was entered on his behalf.
Hood was arrested early Monday morning after the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Department received a tip that Hood was in the Shelburn area. He led deputies on a short pursuit before driving into the path of a semi. The crash was caught on the semi’s dashcam. Neither the semi driver nor Hood were injured.
Hood is also facing charges out of Vigo County and Crawford County, Illinois.
