Suspect evades Farmersburg police on stolen motorcycle; West York man wanted for questioning

FARMERSBURG, Ind. — A West York, Ill. man is wanted for questioning after a suspect eluded Sullivan County authorities on a stolen off-road motorcycle.

Dalton Hood, 22, of West York, Ill. is also wanted out of Crawford County, Ill., and is considered by Illinois officials to be armed and dangerous.

The incident began Monday when an off-road motorcycle was reported stolen to Farmersburg police. Later that day, a male was found riding the motorcycle down the railroad tracks between Sawmill Road and Brampton Brick.

A short vehicle pursuit ensued, followed by a foot pursuit, according to the Farmersburg Marshal’s Office.

The suspect managed to elude law enforcement; however, the motorcycle was found in a beanfield and returned to its owners.

Authorities believe the same suspect also tried to force entry into a residence in Farmersburg.
