TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Studio 12 and Eric’s Humble Pies in the Historic 12 Points neighborhood, recently added an art gallery to their businesses.

With murals on almost every building, art has become a big part of the 12 Points area within the past year.

“Our vision is finally coming to life,” Lucy Chew stated.

Studio 12 newly remodeled side is a shared space between local artists and Terre Haute Creations. The shared space is filled with various items such as paintings, instruments, and furniture.

Painting professor at ISU Nancy Nichols- Pethick said this is a great opportunity.

“An opportunity like this is perfect for a student who might be looking for a place to show their work. It may be their first show they ever had,” Nichols- Pethick said.

Artists can rent out the space provided for up to four to six weeks and sell their art. All proceeds go directly to the artists.

Co owner Lucy Chew said anyone can be an artist.

“We have space for all art of all kinds, from all people, all skill levels, all technical levels, art is art,” Chew said.

Not only is art being encouraged at Studio 12, but also music. Terre Haute Creations is a local business within Studio Twelve and it focuses on creating one of a kind fully functional art.

Co Owner Mercury Georgoudios said this can be a great opportunity for anyone.

“Even if you don’t think you can do it or you’re questioning it, you’re going to mess up a hundred times. Just keep trying it and see what works for you,” Georgoudios stated.

Studio 12 now has both sides open throughout the week and officials encourage others to come out and enjoy themselves.

“This is art, this is music and just don’t be scared to just go out. It doesn’t matter how you play, it doesn’t matter what level you’re at, you just go out and enjoy yourself and have fun,” Georgoudios said.

Anyone interested in being a part of Studio 12’s art vision can do so by messaging its Facebook page, Studio 12.

“Have some pie and see some art,” Eric Hamblin stated.
