Shakamak schools to go online due to COVID-19

JASONVILLE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – Shakamak Schools Superintendent Jeff Gambill said Monday that Shakamak Elementary, Junior and Senior High Schools will be going online until Sept. 14.

The Greene County Health Department made the decision to place all schools on quarantine after two people in the school came back as COVID positive.

Because the elementary, middle and high schools share one building, all schools were moved to virtual learning.

Superintendent Gambill says they’d been discussing going to hybrid learning before the school was closed.

All extracurricular activities are cancelled and will resume on September 13th.
