Police pursuit in Terre Haute ends when suspect hits parked car

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. — A short police pursuit Thursday afternoon in Terre Haute ended when the suspect struck a parked car.

Terre Haute police were dispatched around 2:15 p.m. to the McDonald’s at 3rd and Poplar for what they called “unauthorized control of a vehicle.” When officers attempted a traffic stop of the vehicle, the driver, later identified as Stuart D’Angelo, fled the scene.

A police pursuit ended in the area of Jackson and Margaret when D’Angelo struck a parked car.

After a brief struggle, D’Angelo was taken into custody and charged with three counts of possession of a controlled substance, two counts of resisting law enforcement, battery against a public safety officer, criminal recklessness and dealing in a scheduled drug.
