TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – Police have identified the teenage girl who was killed in a shooting last Friday.

She has been identified by Terre Haute Police as 15-year-old Chloe Carroll of Terre Haute.

Officers responded around 12:36 a.m. Friday to a report of shots fired near 13th and Poplar Streets. While investigating, police say officers were made aware of a shooting victim in the 1900 block of Poplar Street and that’s where officers found Carroll in the back passenger seat of a parked vehicle.

Police say she had been shot at 13th and Poplar in the parking lot of the Hoosier Pete Mini Mart.

Carroll was taken to Union Hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Police say a 15-year-old male was taken into custody Friday afternoon on charges of murder, attempted murder, aggravated battery, criminal recklessness and possession of a firearm without a license.

Police announced Monday that another juvenile, a 17-year-old male, has also been arrested for possession of a firearm by a child, possession of a controlled substance (marijuana), theft of a firearm and unauthorized entry to a motor vehicle.

Both juveniles were taken to the Vigo County Juvenile Center.

Police say the investigation involved over 20 witnesses and the assistance of several law enforcement agencies.
