LINTON, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — No one was hurt after a Linton-Stockton School Corporation school bus was hit by a semi-truck Thursday afternoon while taking students to their homes.
Greene County Sheriff’s Department reported that deputies were called to the intersection of State Road 54 and State Road 59 Thursday for the crash.
Deputies discovered the semi involved came to a stop at the intersection and began to pull out onto SR 54 when it hit the passenger side of the school bus, which was traveling westbound.
The school bus had 2 adults occupants and 6 juvenile occupants at the time of the crash. No injuries were reported to Linton EMS or local authorities.
In a Facebook post, the School Corporation reported, “Our seasoned driver was able to safely slow the bus to a stop after being hit. Our bus aide was a tremendous support to the students. Our students handled themselves beyond their years and have a story to tell. Our administrative and support staff along with first responders were on the scene immediately. Our office staff communicated swiftly with parents.”
