Justin Gasaway, 32, is facing a murder charge following an apparent stabbing on Jan 1.

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — A murder trial for a Terre Haute man accused of stabbing a homeless man has been pushed back.

A jury trial for Justin Gasaway, originally scheduled for Tuesday, will now be held Oct. 6.

Gasaway was arrested following the stabbing death of 61-year-old Bryan J. Owen. Gasaway originally told authorities he found Owen on his porch, noting that he had found him sleeping on the porch several times.

Owen was taken to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Following an investigation, Gasaway was charged with murder and transported to the Vigo County Jail where he is still being held without bond.
