More than 10,000 total COVID-19 cases reported in Indiana

INDIANAPOLIS — The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Indiana surpassed 10,000 Friday, according to the Indiana State Department of Health.

The latest reports showed 642 new cases bringing the state total to 10,154.

Forty two new deaths were also reported for a total of 519 coronavirus-related deaths in the state. Vigo County announced a fourth death Friday not yet included in the state total.

There have now been 50 confirmed cases in Vigo County with 46 still active and 4 deaths. The county JIC has not provided information at this time regarding recoveries.

As of Friday, area totals were:

  • Clay County – 14 current
  • Daviess – 27 current, 1 death
  • Greene – 34 current, 3 deaths
  • Knox – 12 current, 5 recoveries
  • Martin – 5 current
  • Parke – 8 current
  • Sullivan – 7 current
  • Vermillion – 5 current
  • Vigo – 46 current, 4 deaths

The complete list of counties with cases is included in the ISDH COVID-19 dashboard at coronavirus.in.gov. Cases are listed by county of residence. Private lab reporting may be delayed and will be reflected in the map and count when results are received at ISDH. The dashboard will be updated at noon each day.

To date, 54,785 tests have been reported to ISDH, up from 51,115 on Thursday.

The dashboard also has been updated to make corrections based on updated information provided to ISDH.
