JASPER COUNTY, Ill. (WTWO/WAWV) — The Jasper County Sheriff’s Office, with the help of the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office and other agencies, arrested a man on multiple charges after a traffic stop on a stolen vehicle on Friday morning.
The stop took place in the Willow Hill area. Police said 31-year-old Clayton M. Beavers ran from the scene and was later arrested with the help of other agencies.
Beavers was wanted on a Jasper County warrant and a Richland County warrant.
He is currently in Richland County Jail on charges of unlawful possession of a converted vehicle and unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon. According to the police, there are other pending charges.
His bond is set at $500,000.
