WEST TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — A man has been arrested for arson following a fire at a house in West Terre Haute Thursday evening.

Robert Wyrick, 33, of West Terre Haute, was arrested by West Terre Haute police and is facing one count of arson of a dwelling. He is in the Vigo County Jail being held without bond.

According to Vigo Co. Sheriff John Plasse, Wyrick was arrested wearing shorts and no shirt, a description he said matched that of a man who had been seen running from the arson on U.S. 150 Thursday evening.

According to Honey Creek Fire Department PIO Josh Sittler, no one was currently living in the home, but it was not abandoned. Authorities say the home is a total loss following the fire.

Several local fire departments were on the scene of the fire, as well as Transcare and West Terre Haute Police Department.
