Linton police identify homicide victim

LINTON, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — The Linton Police Department Friday released the name of homicide victim who was found on the porch of a vacant residence.

Authorities said the circumstances at the scene where the body of John P. Chapman, 46, of Linton, was discovered were “notably suspicious.” Following an autopsy Thursday, the official manner of death was ruled a homicide.

The incident is currently under investigation by the Linton PD, Indiana State Police, Greene County Prosecutors and the Jasonville Police Department.
