INDIANAPOLIS (WTWO/WAWV) — The Indiana State Department of Health reported 394 new coronavirus cases Wednesday, bringing the state total to 12,438.
According to a news release, for the second day in a row, “the new cases and new tests reported Wednesday are lower than expected due to a technology issue and should not be interpreted as a decline in new infections.”
Thirty one additional deaths were also reported. To date, 661 Hoosiers have died as a result of COVID-19. Dr. Kristine Box on Tuesday announced that by Friday Indiana would begin including presumptive cases in the total reported.
Area totals as of Wednesday were:
- Clay County – 18 current, 1 death
- Daviess – 32 current, 6 deaths
- Greene County – 40 current, 4 deaths
- Knox – 5 current, 14 recoveries
- Martin – 6 current
- Parke – 9 current
- Sullivan – 10 current
- Vermillion – 7 current
- Vigo – 55 current, 5 deaths

A total of 69,470 tests have been administered with 17.9 percent coming back positive.
