Illinois health officials announce 1,551 new coronavirus cases; Jasper County cases rise to 36

SPRINGFIELD – The Illinois Department of Public Health Tuesday announced 1,551 new cases of coronavirus disease in Illinois, including 119 additional deaths.

Jasper County cases jumped to 36 cases, and Crawford County totals rose to 7.

Edgar County once again reported no confirmed cases. As of Tuesday, 64 residents had been tested for the virus, with 61 tests coming back negative. Three tests were listed as pending.

Hardin County is now reporting a case.  Currently, IDPH is reporting a total of 33,059 cases, including 1,468 deaths, in 96 counties. The age of cases ranges from younger than one to older than 100 years.
