INDIANAPOLIS — A week after announcing a new “Stage 4.5” of his Back on Track Indiana plan, Gov. Eric Holcomb will provide the latest update regarding the pandemic and its impact on the state.
Holcomb will be joined Wednesday by State Health Commissioner Dr. Kristina Box and Indiana Economic Development Corporation Chief of Staff Luke Bosso for a 2:30 p.m. briefing.
July 4 was originally set to be the date that the state moved into Stage 5 of Back on Track Indiana, which would essentially fully re-open the state; however, Holcomb chose instead to keep restrictions on in-person dining capacity and other indoor activities for at least another two weeks.
Most outdoor activities were given the green light in Stage 4.5.
Holcomb’s latest update comes one day after the US set a record for new coronavirus cases reported. While 60,000 cases were reported nationwide, Indiana only reported 314 new cases Tuesday. Another 455 cases were reported in the state Wednesday.
