High speed police chase ends when suspect car gets stuck in snow

VIGO COUNTY, Ind. — A suspect trying to evade police was caught Thursday night after his vehicle became stuck in an unplowed intersection.

Quinn Martin II, 24, of Terre Haute, was arrested following what started out as a routine traffic stop for an equipment violation on US 41 near Hulman Street.

According to Indiana State Police, Martin “disregarded the fully marked State Police car with its emergency lights activated, and accelerated.”

A trooper pursued Martin’s vehicle which turned east onto Washington Street and continued through several city streets. The trooper reported that Martin disregarded stop signs and traffic lights, reaching speeds of up to 90 MPH.

When Martin attempted to drive through the intersection of Wheeler Avenue and Krumbhaar, his vehicle became stuck in the snow.

Martin was arrested for resisting law enforcement, reckless driving, felon in possession of a handgun, operating a vehicle while intoxicated and other drug-related offenses. He is also being held on a warrant out of Vigo County for invasion of privacy.
