Hep A case confirmed in Daviess County

DAVIESS COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — A food handler at a Daviess County restaurant has been diagnosed with Hepatitis A.

According to the Daviess County Health Department, the patient handled food Tuesday, May 12 through Friday, May 15 at The New White Steamer in Washington, Ind.

A free Hepatitis A shot clinic will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday at the National Guard Armory in Washington, Ind. for anyone who dined at the restaurant on those days. Face coverings will be required for entry. Participants should remain in their cars when they arrive at the facility.

Anyone who has previously received a Hep A vaccination will not need to attend the clinic.
