WEST TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Those in favor of change for Vigo County School Corporations’ sex education curriculum made their voices heard Tuesday night.
It was the final of three public work sessions to allow the opportunity for community feedback about the curriculum
Previously the meetings heard from school corporation health educators regarding the current “creative positive relationships” curriculum.
On Monday, advocates for the current curriculum spoke. Tuesday, advocates for sex education reform made their voices heard.
The sex education committee will now take all public sessions into account.
“We appreciate the information people provide us. Whether that’s through email or public comment,” VCSC Superintendent Rob Haworth said. “We have a board meeting on July 13. I think we will continue to take public comment there. So we want to gather all the information we possibly can and hopefully make a decision soon about what that direction looks like.”
