VINCENNES, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Two people were arrested in Vincennes Saturday after police investigated a tip about drugs being dealt out of a local motel.

After observing two vehicles “exhibiting behavior common with drug activity,” officers conducted traffic stops resulting in the arrest of Maria Beamon and Larry Conrad.

Beamon, who was a passenger in one of the vehicles, was arrested for dealing Methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine and maintaining a common nuisance.

Police said Conrad admitted to smoking methamphetamine in the parking lot of the motel approximately 20 minutes prior to the traffic stop. He was arrested for operating while intoxicated, possession of methamphetamine and possession of paraphernalia.

Later in the evening, a search warrant was served on the hotel room. The search warrant yielded more methamphetamine, paraphernalia, and items commonly associated with dealing methamphetamine.

“None of this would have been possible without the tip from the community!” The Vincennes Police Department said in a Facebook Post Sunday. “You are the eyes and the ears of the community!”
