COVID-19 in Illinois: Another surge in new cases 1 day ahead of Phase 4

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. – The Illinois Department of Public Health on Thursday announced 894 new confirmed cases of coronavirus disease throughout the state, including 41 additional confirmed deaths.

Currently, IDPH is reporting a total of 139,434 cases, including 6,810 deaths, in 101 counties in Illinois. The age of cases ranges from younger than one to older than 100 years. 

Within the past 24 hours, laboratories have reported 31,686 specimens for a total of 1,460,527. 

The preliminary seven-day statewide positivity for cases as a percent of total test from June 18–June 24 is 3%.
