COVID-19 cases confirmed in all but 1 Illinois county

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WTWO/WAWV) – The Illinois Department of Public Health on Friday announced 1,622 new cases of coronavirus disease in the state, including 86 additional deaths.

Edgar County is now reporting a case of COVID-19.  Cases have now been confirmed in all but one Illinois county.

Currently, IDPH is reporting a total of 117,455 cases, including 5,270 deaths. The age of cases ranges from younger than one to older than 100 years. 

Within the past 24 hours, laboratories have reported 25,513 specimens for a total of 855,479. 

The preliminary seven-day statewide positivity for cases as a percent of total test from May 22–May 28 is 8%.
