TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Construction of a new VA clinic coming to Terre Haute is now underway.
According to Richard Griffith, Veteran Health Indiana public affairs officer, work has begun on a concrete pad for the building. Crews are also working on excavation and soil work required at the site.
Plans for the $40 million VA Outpatient Center to be located on Terre Haute’s east side, were announced in December.
The clinic will be located on over 12 acres of land behind Walmart on State Road 46, and will serve as many as 10,000 veterans once completed.
“We are currently planning a formal event in October to allow Veterans and members of the community to sign one of the cross beams going into the building,” Griffith said.
