PUTNAM COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – 2nd Update: Sgt. Matt Ames said, “All lanes of I-70 eastbound at the 47-mile marker are now open. Everyone please have a safe commute to work this morning.”
According to Ames the cause of the crash was unsafe lane movement.
1st Update: Sgt. Matt Ames said one person suffered minor injuries and was transported to an area hospital following a crash on I-70 involving two semi-trucks.
Troopers on scene say one lane is back open, but traffic is still backed up for at least four miles. Drivers are encouraged to take US-40 as an alternative.


The interstate is expected to be cleaned up and both lanes reopened around 10:00 pm EST.
Original: Indiana State Troopers are currently on the scene of an accident just east of Cloverdale on I-70 near the 47 mile marker.
Sgt. Matt Ames with Indiana State Police said the crash involves two semis. It happened just before 6:00 pm.
One semi is reportedly overturned, blocking both eastbound lanes.
Drivers are asked to find alternative routes while emergency crews work the scene.
