Wildlife rehabilitator Angel Lange and Knox Co. Deputy Matt McCormick rescued a bald eagle Monday.

VINCENNES, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — A bald eagle was rescued Monday by a Knox County Sheriff’s Deputy and a local wildlife rehabilitator.

According to the Knox County Sheriff’s Office’s Facebook page, Deputy Matt McCormick responded to a call of a bald eagle that had been hit by a motorist.

McCormick then contacted wildlife rehabilitator Angel Lange, who came to rescue the injured eagle.

The post notes that while bald eagles are no longer on the endangered species list, they are protected under multiple federal laws and regulations.
