WEST TERRE HAUTE, Ind. — For the second time in the past week, the Sugar Creek Fire Department battled a blaze at the same vacant home on Woodland Drive in West Terre Haute.
When crews arrived around 5:30 a.m. Monday, they found flames and smoke coming from the roof. According to Public Information Office Josh Sittler, the fire was contained within 30 minutes.
About a week ago, Sittler said, the department put out another fire at the vacant residence. At that time, damage was contained to one small room.
According to Sittler, both fires have been deemed suspicious and are currently under investigation.
