VERMILLION COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – An Illinois resident has been charged with voter fraud after claiming a home in Vermillion County, Ind.
According to Indiana State Police, an investigation revealed that Joseph B. Ellis, 52 of Edgar County, Ill. was allegedly voting outside his precinct residence and filing unauthorized absentee ballots in Vermillion County, Ind.
Ellis received a summons to appear in Vermillion Co. Circuit Court in May.
He is being charged with the following:
- Ineligible Voter, Felony 6
- Voting Outside Precinct Residence, Felony 6 (2 counts)
- Unauthorized Absentee Ballot, Felony 6
