CRAWFORD COUNTY, Ill. (WTWO/WAWV) — Three people were pronounced dead and another person was injured following a one-vehicle crash early Thursday morning in Palestine, Ill.
According to Illinois State Police, Skyler Williams, 21, of Lawrenceville was traveling east on Illinois 33, just east of North Highway Street in Palestine, when he failed to negotiate a turn. His vehicle left the roadway, striking a pole and coming to rest in a tree line.
Two rear passengers, Kodey Burns, 20, of Robinson, Ill. and a 13-year-old male from Vincennes, Ind., were not wearing seatbelts and were ejected from the vehicle upon impact.
Williams and both rear passengers were pronounced dead at the scene.
A third passenger, Morgan Wells, 23, of Loogootee, Ind. was transported to a nearby hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
The crash is still under investigation by the Illinois State Police.
