TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – Two houses were completely destroyed and one person displaced after a fire early Sunday morning near 20th and Linden Streets in Terre Haute. There were no injuries reported.

According to Terre Haute Fire Chief Bill Berry, the fire started in a vacant house at 2024 N 20th. St. The house was already damaged from a previous fire two months ago.

Another house, just to the south was also destroyed by the fire due to close proximity. The owner was reportedly inside asleep at the time and was woken up by a passerby.

Chief Berry said a building inspector went to the scene and determined the structure was very unstable.

A third house to the north had the siding melted off, but is still habitable.
