Wolves hungry for regional

ROCKVILLE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – After winning the first sectional in school history, the Parke Heritage Wolves head to Greenfield looking to do damage in the regional. Head coach Rich Schelsky says the two schools coming together a couple of years ago has made this team closer than ever.

Rich Schelsky says,”We were rivals three years ago and these kids came together, they’ve meshed together. It’s probably the closest group of kids and best chemistry on a basketball team that I’ve ever had and to do that in that short amount of time and to see our communities come together.

“Rockville and Turkey run were heated rivals, and you look up there, it brings a tear to my eye because I’m a Parke county lifer for the most part and it’s just so awesome. Our community is awesome and I know it means a lot to our kids, (winning) the first basketball sectional.”

Senior Jaylen Crull says,”I mean it’s something I never thought would happen before we consolidated and last year kinda gave us hope and this year we worked out butts off.”

Freshman Christian Johnson says,”We still have good teams to play. Just have to play smart. Play our game and I think we could make a run.”
