TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – Indiana State Football wrapped up Spring Practice Friday morning at memorial stadium. The Sycamores canceled the Blue and White Scrimmage set for Saturday due to weather, but were able to end Friday on a positive note.

“Well, we came away better and we came away healthy. We didn’t have a single injury throughout the Spring,” says Curt Mallory.

“We had some guys get hurt that’s part of football, but I thought we got more physical. We tackled the most amount you are allowed. We were able to finish the scrimmaging last Saturday. What we got done today was what we were going to do tomorrow so we just pushed it back one day.”

Coach Mallory credits his coaches for navigating a safe Spring.

“I thought it was a tremendous spring, but give full credit to our strength program. The job that Coach McManus and our training staff led by Kellen Norris getting these guys ready for Spring ball. It’s a big tribute to them.”

ISU will open the season against North Alabama on Thursday, September 1st. Kickoff is set for 6pm at Memorial Stadium.
