Sycamores Win on Senior Night


On Senior Night, it was the four person senior class which led Indiana State to a 69-59 victory over Northern Iowa in the home finale inside Hulman Center in front of 3,778 fans.

Indiana State improved to 11-18, 5-12 MVC while UNI fell to 14-14, 9-8 MVC. The Sycamores won for the second consecutive time at home against the Panthers while seventh-year head coach Greg Lansing earned career victory No. 120 which is tied for the fifth-most in the history of the program with John Longfellow. Indiana State also improved to 80-9 under coach Lansing when holding a team to 63 points or less.

It was the seniors who powered the Sycamores to victory as all four earned the start. Niels Bunschoten connected on 4-of-5 3-pointers and led the way with 20 points to go with three assists and two rebounds. Everett Clemons once again did it all with 12 points and came down with 13 rebounds and added two assists with two steals. It was Clemons’ third double-double of the season and the fourth of his career. Matt Van Scyoc hit a pair of 3-pointers to score six points while TJ Bell added two points and five rebounds.
