Sycamores ready for Bears

ST. LOUIS (WTWO/WAWV) – The Indiana State Sycamores will open up Arch Madness Friday night against Missouri State at 9:30pm EST.

The last time these two teams played, February 16th inside Hulman Center, the Sycamores suffered their only home loss of the season, 71-58.

Christian Williams finished with 15 points in that game and will look to continue his streak of impressive play tonight.

Christian Williams says,”Going into this game, we know how talented they are so just paying attention to the details and trying to get everything corrected.”

Greg Lansing says,”I really like our group of guys. I have never enjoyed a team as much as I have this group. Large is the guys up here and I will throw Bronson in that too, but being able to bring JB back here.”

Jordan Barnes says,”I would just say everybody has the hunger to come out and win this tournament especially in STL when it’s one and done. For me, it’s being back in STL with these guys. Especially the younger guys we have. Showing them how hard it is to win this tournament and the feeling you get after winning it.”

How about a flashback Friday? Nine years ago it was freshman Jake Odum with this game-winner late at Arch madness against Evansville.

Now all eyes will be on ISU freshman Jake LaRavia tonight who continues to deal with a sore back. Indiana State is looking to advance to the MVC Semis for the first time since 2016.
